I finally got around to it!

Well, I never thought I'd see the day (even though I did buy the materials about five months ago), but our Monster Garage-inspired, jeweled mouse-coordinated computer paint job has finally come to be!

Headin' Home!

Hooray, I just booked my flights for my summer trip home from August 28th through September 12, just in time for Bumbershoot, my birthday, and Michael and Mica's wedding! Can't wait to see you all (and get a whiff of that fantastic Pacific Ocean). This trip is so desperately needed! Recently I've found myself miscongigating verbs and using the word “phat” casually in a sentence (to the great entertainment of my coworkers). Also, this year I’ll have my digital camera (thank you Jon for helping me pick it out!) so I’ll have more pictures for my gallery to cry over next winter as I’m stuck in DC. My company is, however, going to fly us all to Seattle for our annual Global Leadership Conference in March and I will have the option to stay for a little longer so I will not have to endure the heartache for as long this year. See you guys soon!

testin' it out!

So I love my bike! (For those of you who don't talk to me often enough to have heard this lately). After Marta and Gerardo and Laura all bailed on me for our bike rides last Sunday I decided to say fuck it and go on one by myself. I rode from my house is Columbia Heights down to the National airport and back in 1 hour and 15 minutes. At one point I clocked myself going 16 miles per hour. That's hot! Of course I was fixing to have a heart attack upon my return and my left arm was asleep, but it was just so exciting!

Duh!

So one of my coolest girlfriends just got dumped with the famed and familiar "it's not you, it's me" line. My advice to the gentlemen? Don't bother with the line. Odds are we already know it's not us and we've been telling you somethings wrong with you for months. At least we know you've been listening.

My new bike!

So, I bought these two 20 year old bikes at a yard sale for $2.50 a piece. They were rusty but had never been used! The one in the back, I gave to my roommate Sol, and the one in the front is mine. We cleaned them up, and while I can't speak for Sol's, and they're both quite heavy, mine is so fast, I'm absolutely in love with it!

PS- there are now links at the bottom of this page! Thanks Jon <3

Okay, I'll clarify myself and then wash my hands of it

So I had the opportunity to live in Virginia for all of 9 months, two years ago. Apparently, I owed taxes from the first six months I moved there. Of course I realize that I am obligated to pay them (so I did) to the tune of $275.

During my stay in VA I also found that the Arlington police are parking Nazis after the third parking ticket I recieved.

A couple months ago, I recieved a traffic ticket for an HOV violation even though the cop didn't know when 66 was actually HOV except that he knew it was just then. (fyi, that cost $105).

So I wondered, what could Virginia be doing with all that money? Are schools here better than else where? I haven't really heard that. Is public transportation expansive and reliable? No unless you live walking distance from a Metro station. Is the police force well equipted and trained? Not by my experiance. Last summer a man jumped out of the bushes and tried to rape me. It took so long for police to respond (even after the first trooper showed up) that four squad cars, a K-9, and a ghetto bird could not find a drunken, ethnic man in a white, upperclass, residential neighborhood.

Viirginia's saving grace? Smokes are cheap.

My official stance on Virginia

The Commomwealth (aka we're rich cause we take all your shit) of Virginia government is compromised of a thieving bunch of slack-asses. I rue the day I set foot in there.
